We understand that you may experience some questions and concerns as you
attempt to complete our program. This is true of any career
guidance program, especially those programs, like ours, that are
self-instructional and self-directed in nature. Listed below are a
number of options that we recommend if you need assistance completing
our program.
Please note!
Due to the fact that this program is available via the Internet
and considering that thousands of people access our website each
month, it is NOT POSSIBLE for us to respond to unsolicited email
requests for assistance. We appreciate your cooperation in
this matter. If you wish to receive assistance from us,
please see the "Paid support via email" option below.
Local free
career advice...
In most communities, you can find a
number of professional career counselors that offer free advice to
career planners and job seekers. These individuals can typically
be found at the locations listed below. Check your local Yellow
Pages for names and phone numbers, and then call each location to
inquire as to whether they offer services to the general public.
If they do, explain to them that you're working on our program and need
assistance (explain the help that you need) and ask them if they can
help you. Help may come in the form of a phone conversation,
office visit, or referral to some third party resource. If you do
meet for an office visit, remember to take your materials from this
program with you to share with your counselor!
High

Vocational and Technical Schools (contact Counseling or Placement

Charitable organizations (Salvation Army, etc.)
Local paid
career advice...
In many communities, you can find
professional career counselors in private practice that can assist you
for a fee. Again, check your Yellow Pages for names and phone
numbers and then call them to inquire about their services. You
may also obtain recommendations about counselors in private practice
from some of the free sources listed above - so call them first.
Carefully explain what assistance you need, and then inquire as to what fee would
be required before you agree to participate.
Online chat
groups...
Many online chat services (aka social
networks) offer "chat rooms" where you can discuss with other
individuals matters that are important to you. You can either join
an existing chat session on career planning, or create one yourself and
invite others to join you for a discussion. In either case you may
be able to find someone who can help you with your career needs.
Such services are usually free of charge.
Paid support via
email...
We (Gonyea & Associates, LLC) offer
assistance in completing our program via email for a fee of $125.
Due to our current work schedules, this is a very limited service. We
can only accept a few clients each month, and we operate on a first
come, first served basis. If we are not able to assist you during
the current month, we will place your name on a waiting list and offer
you first option during the next month's scheduling.
Here's how our program works:
Upon registration with our support
service, you will receive an email from us outlining the purpose and
objectives of Step 1 of our program. Your first email will
also contain a detailed checklist of things that you should do to
complete the first step. Consider this first step your first
assignment. You may email us if you have any questions
regarding how to complete the first assignment. After you have
completed the first assignment, you will forward your results to us
via email. We will review your results and email our comments
and our suggestions for improvement, as well as instructions
regarding how to complete the next step (assignment).
We will continue this process
throughout all five steps of our program to guide you to a
successful completion - where you are able to select a career goal
and develop a plan to reach your goal.
If you wish to receive more information
about our paid support service, or to request participation in this
service, please use our Contact page to notify
us. Simply indicate that you would like more information or to
participate and we'll forward information via email.
