Behavioral traits visibly define how you think, what you believe, how you
process information and how you see the world around you.
The purpose of this step is to help you define
your work-related behavioral traits -
those behaviors that best illustrate how you think and process the world around
you and, therefore, how you prefer to or typically behave when working.
Knowing your behavioral traits will help you choose an occupation where you can
most comfortably function and succeed.To help you complete this step, you will review a list of work-related
behavioral traits, and then
using this list as clues you will define your work-related traits.

Identify your work-related
behavioral traits.
Review the list of work-related behavioral traits below and check those
traits that
are most descriptive of how you behave when working. Be selective, only select the most
descriptive traits.

Adaptable/Flexible
You can easily adjust to new routines, systems, situations,
procedures and people.

behavioral traits.
Using your selections above as clues, describe your work-related
behavioral traits on your partially completed copy of Form 1 - the same
form you used to record your interests in Step 1a. Review the following suggestions
before you attempt to define your traits:
List
only your most descriptive traits.
List
anywhere from 1 to 5 traits.
Make
sure each trait is different from the others.
Here's an
example showing how the behavioral traits section could be completed.
Do not let the above list make decisions for
you! While such lists are helpful tools, they do not list all the
behavioral traits that do exist. Therefore, in the final analysis, what you
believe are your traits should be the deciding factor when listing your
traits.
